I haven’t touched a traditional blow dryer or flat iron since 2019—and honestly, I haven’t looked back. That was the year I tried my first blow dryer brush, and it completely changed my hair routine.

Why? Neither tool was drastically better in performance, so cost became the deciding factor. When you’re replacing a full brush every year anyway, price matters. Plus, the L’ange heat was a little too intense for comfort.

Enter: Detachable Brush Heads.
This was the upgrade I didn’t know I needed. First of all, the ability to just replace the brush head is a game changer. Second, it makes traveling with it so much easier—pop it apart, toss it in your suitcase, and go.

Revlon’s 2.0 version now comes with a detachable head (though as of now, it  comes in other colors—not just classic black and pink—but you still can’t buy the heads individually). So while it’s progress, it’s not quite perfect.

Meanwhile, L’ange stepped it up. Their Multi Volume Series not only includes detachable brush heads, but also offers them in multiple sizes—four to be exact. You can buy them in black or pink, swap out heads as they wear out, and it seems like they’ve also fixed the heat issue. That’s a major win in my book.

Yes, it’s a bit more of an investment upfront, but there are always promo codes floating around, and you only need to buy the base once. After that, it’s just replacing the heads as needed.
